Kettlebell Workout, Training & Exercises

The biggest issue for most people when it comes to fitness workouts is initiating and maintaining their momentum, meaning building the momentum up and maintaining it.

According to a survey made, most people trying to get fitter and into better shape have similar problems like busy schedules, very little time, information overload and other obligations (family, work, friends and such).

Here is what the Kettlebell means for me. It took me quite some time to figure this out but i’m glad I did and I want to share it with the world.

And now I will explain about every aspect of Kettlebell as I see it:

K – Kick Start

Sometimes (most of the times) people lack motivation. There can be many reasons for this but I will focus on just two:

  1. Trying to achieve too much in a short period of time.
    During Kettlebell training, the conditioning & strength program for most people is designed in a way that supplements other training. Kettlebell workout is not meant to leave people too tired that they end up spending all their energy. When people get burned out, don’t see any outcome or they are injured from too much training, they simply lose motivation.
    The Kettlebell workout is designed to be intense but brief and will provide results much faster than any other form of training with a lower rick of injuries.
  2. Most people find themselves juggling in the gym between too many instruments. Moving on from one training instrument to the other very rapidly and not giving any of them time to work. With Kettlebell training you only focus on one instrument and that is much easier for people to do than to juggle between too many different instruments

In Kettlebell exercises, only two things are required – you and a Kettlebell. So, kettlebell workout simplifies the training of people to a great extent.

E – Eliminates

Kettlebell exercises eliminate the requirement to have large training programs to gain strength and momentum. So, kettlebell exercises are ideal for smaller facilities and gyms as the Kettlebells take up little floor space. They do not need expensive and big racks to keep them and could be stored in corners also.

T – Time

Kettlebell Training permits a player to reduce the overall time he devotes to training. People can therefore devote their attention to other important issues like skill, strategy, recovery and rest.

A total Kettlebell workout for gaining required strength and momentum will usually take 30 to 35 minutes, at most. Different Kettlebell exercises will be included in the lessons every week and they will build up slowly and slowly from basic exercises to more advanced. People will love each and every step of their Kettlebell training.

T – Total

Kettlebell exercises are a total package. They workout your entire body. From top to bottom. One exercise can train for power, endurance, strength, stamina, mobility and flexibility with a single tool.

By engaging a knowledgeable trainer, people can have a well designed Kettlebell workout routine. Such routine planned by a creative trainer could fulfill all the requirements a person could have.

It is particularly true in case of martial arts athletes. Kettlebell training also permits people to manipulate leverage points, making kettlebell exercises challenging and harder at every step.

L – Leverage

When there is no fulcrum, no grip and no leverage, it means no martial arts. To develop a vise-like strong grip and to lay a heavy hand on the opponent, kettlebell exercises are needed. Kettlebell training helps in building powerful forearms and an enduring and a very strong grip. Since Kettlebells have a thicker handle as compared to dumbbells & barbells they will help in developing greater overall strength.

As you probaly know, the world is continually moving away from physical labor, so the grip strength of people is also decreasing (among many other things). Using Kettlebell exercises will surly help reverse this trend.

The Kettlebells design also adds up to the grip training. The center of gravity of the kettlebell is generally in motion, so the grip turns out to be a combination of dynamic and static muscular contractions.

E – Everywhere  

Kettlebell training permits an individual to train anywhere, inside or outside, home, local park, beach and other place you can think of.

So, one does not have the chance to miss his or her kettlebell workout routine as there are simply less excuses. Kettlebells can even be taken on the road with you if you are traveling.

B – Bridge

Kettlebell exercises are designed to bridge a gap between cardio and strength training. In few types of games, this gap does not make a difference. Without getting too scientific or technical, there are 3 basic energy systems that the human body utilizes to fuel an activity.

Grappling stresses all these 3 systems. It is generally said that all excellent grapplers have insane amounts of strength endurance and power endurance. Kettlebell exercises develop these physical qualities, so it is just another great reason to stick to it.

E – Effective

Kettlebell workout is known to appear in the Russian dictionary for the first time in the year 1704. From such an old time, strong men and grapplers have been performing Kettlebell exercises. Because they are so effective they are still a huge part of the physical culture and grappling world.

L – Lifetime value

Initially, one may have to spend a little more money to buy a kettlebell, as compared to other tools in basic weight training. But, when you think of the lifetime value of a Kettlebell you will soon realize that the cost is no as important as you may think.

And, with the increasing popularity of Kettlebell exercises, you can already see that the prices are going down.

L – Lungs

Kettlebell training helps in improving cardio-respiratory fitness. During Kettlebell exercises the muscles assisting the breathing procedure are engaged in muscle activity, not permitting them to help in respiration. It forces the muscles engaged in breathing to play a good role in cardio vascular fitness.

Because of the characteristics studied above, Kettlebell exercises have helped many people to improve their performance in the field, become stronger, more fit, lose weight and build muscles.
